Inmalo celebrates 70 years in business

Inmalo - International Marketers (London) Ltd celebrated 70 years in business by inviting clients and family friends to a dinner excursion on the River Thames in June aboard the Elizabethan steamer.

A well-known and respected family company, Inmalo was started in the aftermath of the Second World War by Arnost Polak in 1946.

With the war over and little prospect of returning to Czechoslovakia, Arnost, a veteran of 311 Squadron and The Free Czechoslovakian Air Force, decided to remain in England to start a new life and business.

The need to clear up and rebuild Britain’s major cities provided the inspiration to start his business supplying crane and bulldozer tracks and later demolition equipment.

The increase in sales and imports of tracked propelled heavy plant equipment allowed Arnost to expand his business through the 1950’s and 60’s from home and rented yards to purpose-built premises in Chertsey.

Settled with a family, Arnost continued building the family business. John Polak joined his father’s business in 1975 adding new products to serve a growing demand for smaller and more powerful excavators requiring specialist attachments.

Today the focus is very much on Demolition and Recycling attachments and Dust Suppression equipment and now John has been joined by his own son Charles to continue and develop the family business.

“We work with some wonderful people and long established names in the demolition industry and so we rightfully wanted to celebrate this milestone. Unfortunately Dad’s health couldn’t enable him to join us but we raised a glass to his achievements and legacy.” says John.

Inmalo have recently supplied equipment for some high profile demolition and regeneration projects including; Earls Court (Keltbray) and Portsmouth Naval base (GBM Demolition).

Charles said - “Inmalo would like to thank all its past and present clients for their support over the years and we look forward to supporting the demolition and recycling industry as we move forwards together in the future.”
